For Houston Area Dancers
Set for Spring, especially this year's event, is quite different from Bayou Bedlam.
Limited Attendance
English country dancing requires more space than contra dancing in order to be danced comfortably. So unlike some other HATDS events, Set for Spring 2026 limits attendance to give everyone that space.
Preregistration Required
All registrations must be done online in advance and are for the full weekend only. Tickets will not be sold for individual sessions.
Drop-ins are not allowed.
Experience Required
All dancers are expected to be proficient in standard English country dance figures. Set for Spring is not intended for dancers new to English or dancers who need constant prompting on popular, commonly-done dances. Tap for the reasons why.
If you are a contra dancer who wants to check out English dancing, come to our regular 1st and 3rd Sunday dances, not Set for Spring.
Please Volunteer!
If you have registered for Set for Spring, please volunteer a bit of your time. There are several jobs that need doing over the course of the weekend, none of which require much time.
There are currently no work/trade options. All volunteers need to be registered for the full weekend.

Attendees are coming from all over the country. If you can offer home hospitality to one or more of them, even if you are not attending Set for Spring, please submit this form.
