Contra Door Manager Certification

This is a combination tutorial and quiz. It is concerned only with financial accounting, not other door procedures. It must be completed before you work the door by yourself.

Why is this necessary?

There have been too many problems with the accounting at contra dances, creating inaccurate records and work for other volunteers who must identify and correct the errors.

There has always been a demonstration version of the online dance accounting pages. It is clear that very few door managers have taken advantage of the demo and/or have not followed the instructions included in the online pages.

Now only individuals who answer a series of questions while working with the demo will be listed as door managers.

Notes

You may do the tutorial/quiz more than once for any reason.
You may practice with the demo without taking the quiz, using your own scenarios and numbers.
Most questions are very simple. Many address errors made in the past. All require careful reading.

Process

You will have two web pages open: one with the instructions and questions, the other with the demo. It is strongly recommended that you use a device with a larger screen (⋝ 10") for ease of use.
The tutorial is comprehensive. Allow at least 45 minutes. You may take breaks as long as you don't close the browser tabs.
There are 28 questions plus a 29th that scores as a bonus. A final score of 90% or higher is required to pass.
To help you learn, you will stay on a question until you enter the correct answer.
To discourage guessing, incorrect responses lower your score. Five or more incorrect responses on the first 28 questions assures a final score lower than 90% and will require you to retake the quiz.
Don't try to use your browser's back button. If you're following instructions it won't be necessary and may cause problems. All forward and back functions are included in the tutorial.
Failure to follow instructions has been a large part of the problem in the past. Go slowly, read and follow instructions, and don't guess.
After completing the tutorial and quiz, your name will automagically appear in the list of certified door managers.
