Duties

Shortly after each dance, update SignUp Genius (SUG), deleting the most recent dance so that the next dance is at the top of the list (details below). This is the primary required activity.

Approx one a year, add many new dances to the SUG list. Check with the Board for the schedule; it is usually done a calendar year in advance. Update job descriptions if needed (unlikely).

Generally encourage volunteers. Our website does this as do emails as do some announcements at dances. Periodically assess how that is working and if it can be improved or if other things are needed (e.g. posters at the dances or special emails that are only about volunteering).

If possible, check SUG on late Friday or early Saturday to make sure we have a door manager and sound tech. A door manager and sound tech are required at each dance. Other jobs are highly desirable, but can be dealt with if empty.

  • If no door manager, send an email for help to those likely to know how to do it. As of this writing (June 2020), those people are Denise W, Marcy H, John L, Keith H, Dorcas H, Julie U, Sandy S, and maybe others.
  • As of this writing (June 2020), the sound techs are Jim A, John B, Tyler H, Keith H, Garth O, and Kendall R.

SignUp Genius Procedures

  1. Go to our SUG page .
  2. Log in with the credentials you were given.
  3. Click “Edit Content” on the admin toolbar. The cleanup after every dance is done under “Dates/times”, where you click the delete checkbox on the row with the last dance and then click “Delete selected”.
